Do you have a Fluke, GE/Druck, Martel, or Transmation calibrator and need an upgrade to PIE?

Use the below cross reference guide to find the recommended PIE replacement.

A Fluke calibrator for process instruments is large with lots of buttons versus the small size and easy to use interface of a PIE Calibrator. The Fluke 725 and Fluke 726 process calibrators require complicated hookups with easily lost jumper wires for RTD connections while the PIE 820 & PIE 830 use true 2, 3 & 4 wire connections. The Fluke 714, Fluke 714B thermocouple calibrators and the Fluke 724 Thermocouple/RTD calibrator require miniature thermocouple connectors to plug in wires while the PIE 422 and PIE 525B accept bare thermocouple wires under screws as well as miniature thermocouple connectors.

Find hidden problems in 4 to 20 milliamp loops, broken wires from RTD sensors and excessive loop loads with troubleshooting features found only on PIE calibrators. Upgrade your Fluke process calibrator with a PIE Evolutionary Calibrator and see how much easier it is to use and how much time you save on each calibration.

As of 2021 Martel Calibrators are no longer being manufactured. Support is limited as service and replacement parts become harder to find. This includes several models which were labeled under other brand names.

A Martel Calibrator is large with lots of buttons versus the small size and easy to use interface of a PIE Calibrator. The Martel MC-1010 and Martel MC-1210 process calibrators require complicated hookups with easily lost jumper wires for RTD connections while the PIE 820 & PIE 830 use true 2, 3 & 4 wire connections. The Martel PTC-8010 Thermocouple/RTD calibrator require miniature thermocouple connectors to plug in wires while the PIE 525B accept bare thermocouple wires under screws as well as miniature thermocouple connectors.

Find hidden problems in 4 to 20 milliamp loops, broken wires from RTD sensors and excessive loop loads with troubleshooting features found only on PIE calibrators. Upgrade your Martel calibrator with a PIE Evolutionary Calibrator and see how much easier it is to use and how much time you save on each calibration.

Transmation calibrators have been around since the late 1960s. The first milliamp calibrators had analog meter movements and were housed in extruded aluminum enclosures that were large and heavy. The Transmation 1040 became a standard for instrument technicians even though the digits on the LCD display were the size of a digital watch display. The Transmation 1040, and the Transmation 1080 combined a 4 to 20 milliamp, 10 to 50 milliamp, and voltage calibrator into one device. These were discontinued in 2001.

Other discontinued models include the Transmation 1060, 1061, 1062, 1064P and 1065-MTC thermocouple calibrators, Transmation 1074 and CheckMate 500 RTD calibrators, Transmation 1021, 1022, 1027, 1028, 1030, 1143, 1180 and CheckMate 100 milliamp calibrators, 1188 & CheckMate 100 multifunction calibrator and the Transmation 1070 & 1174 frequency calibrators. Many of these models are so old they that replacement parts no longer exist and are no longer repairable. Or for the models that can be repaired, the cost of repair often exceeds the cost of a replacement PIE calibrator!

When you check the accuracy of some of these obsolete calibrators you will find that they are no longer accurate enough to calibrate modern process instruments. Why risk using a piece of test equipment designed in the 1970s or 1980s to calibrate a state-of-the-art control system.

Transmation calibrators also used miniature banana jacks that required non-standard test leads and many of them contained expensive rechargeable battery packs. PIE Calibrators use standard, replaceable “AA” and 9V batteries and have standard banana jacks and come with standard test leads. Find hidden problems in 4 to 20 milliamp loops, broken wires from RTD sensors and excessive loop loads with troubleshooting features found only on PIE calibrators. Upgrade your Transmation process calibrator with a PIE Evolutionary Calibrator and see how much easier it is to use and how much time you save on each calibration.
